FUH2 CAMPAIGN

The members of Citizens In Action are asking for the community to address the selfish, egotistical, and illogical practice of driving a Hummer. We simply ask that you give anyone driving a Hummer the middle finger. The goal is to break the spell that owning a Hummer is cool. Indeed, it will show Hummer drivers that they are riding in a useless, oversized metal box, not even worthy of being a shallow status symbol. CIA realizes that this campaign may be seen by some as childish and ineffective. However, for those of us who feel powerless in an ever increasingly insane society, this simple gesture of giving an idiot the bird is a welcome act to break the monotony/silence of simply accepting ignorance. If you don’t feel comfortable flipping the bird (although you have nothing to fear, we’re talking suburban yuppies here) then other effective gestures suggested by our members include giving a thumbs down or raising your pinky finger at the male drivers to show…well you get the idea.

We know there are people out there like us who have a primal gut reaction when seeing this unnecessary automobile. We call on all citizens even slightly annoyed by Hummer drivers’ gas-guzzling ways to join us! For further information on why anyone would do this, check out www.fuh2.com (with interesting facts about Hummers and thousands of photos across the globe of people giving a Hummer the finger).

Citizens In Action (CIA)is a local, activist collective that meets every Thursday at 9pm at Loose Screws (located on King and Riberia). The collective welcomes everyone to attend and present ideas on how to make our community better. CIA meetings are not forums for political or philosophical debate — we discuss actions. Thank you.
